Recently I’ve been in many relationships over the years and I must confess I never had to think hard about the degree one should love another until I had taken the big step of carrying the emotions of a lover. I remember when I first “fell in Love”. It had nothing to do with her hair, her eyes, or her smile. I appreciated those things, but they were not what I was in love with. I was in love with her isness. I loved her because I wanted to. The story begin with two strangers becoming friends. We learn each other's behaviors and agree on a lot of things and all of a sudden we modify them. WE FALL IN LOVE -__- Isn't it amazing how we keep falling into things? And we have the nerve to call ourselves intelligent and evolved creatures. So yeah! I had fallen (or so I thought) "out of Love”. In that phase my idea of love was this thing that happened if I could just change my feelings about her. I was so hooked on what I felt inside that I wasn’t making any choices on the outside. Parallel to my feelings,the relationship lacked inspiration, communication and had become predictable. We were in love with being in love-NOT quite understanding the meaning of love other than something superficial. We had a concept that love is something you feel when your emotions get the best of you but, I’ve learned that it’s much simpler. As humans we are constantly changing and constantly evolving our ideas, but the degree in which we Love someone should never change, it should be continuous and rich from the beginning. I now realize that I didn’t Love my girlfriend properly because I was attached to the emotions and the feelings and the sex, but I didn’t attach(Love) my SPACE to her SPACE. Yes! I now believe to love someone I must look past emotions, feeling and deeds and attach (Love) SPACE to SPACE. So that when things change on the outside you can speak to their SPACE and not to their emotions. One can receive true Love by Loving SPACE. Thus becoming SPACE. The next step is to Love (attach to) others as we love ourselves or as we are ATTACHED TO ourselves and to always remember that SPACE HEALS EVERYTHING...
